The new early-to-mid-season hybrid grape variety “Tornado” is one of the most promising amateur selections of V.M. Kalugin. The bush is vigorous, and the vine ripens well. The flowers are bisexual and self-pollinating. The clusters are very large, have excellent marketability, are medium-loose, cylindrical-conical in shape, and average 1,000-1,500 grams in weight, with some of the largest reaching up to 2.5 kg. The berries are very large, uniform, oval-shaped, dark red or reddish-purple in color with a pruinose bloom, weighing approximately 20-25 grams. The flesh is dense, juicy, and has excellent flavor, with a harmonious varietal flavor. The yield is high. Disease resistance and frost hardiness are being studied.
