Black Monukka (kishmis) is a seedless, early ripening grape variety. Its place of origin is Asia. It belongs to the ecogeographical group of oriental grape varieties. The bunches are cylindrical in shape. The berries are medium-sized, oval, slightly rounded at the top, dark blue in colour, with a rich waxy coating and thin skin. The flesh is dense and crisp.Ripening period: Early-mid-season (growing season is approximately 110-130 days).Berries: Medium-sized (weight 2-3 g), oval-shaped, black with a rich bluish waxy bloom. The flesh is firm and crisp, the skin is thin and easy to eat.Bunches: Medium-sized (weight 100-400 g), cylindrical or conical, sometimes with a “wing.”Taste: Harmonious, rich, with a high sugar content.
Use: Universal. Used for fresh consumption, drying (raisins), and wine production.
