Niagara seedless is an American seedless grape variety. A mutation of the Niagara variety.
The ripening period is very early – end of July. The bushes are above average vigour. The leaf is medium, less often large, light green, medium transverse, often three-lobed, similar to those of hybrids of Vitis labrusca L., but with weak ripening in the lower half of the leaf.
Clusters are medium-sized, 150-350 g, cylindrical, sometimes with a wing, medium to dense. Berries are small, average weight 2,6 g, oval, white, yellow in the sun. Practically no rudiments, Class I-II seedless. Distinguished by its high accumulation of sugars. The flesh is fleshy and juicy, practically not slimy, the skin dense but edible. The flavour has very light fruity tones and is often harmonious without a specific aroma. Yields are average or above average. The variety is moderately resistant to oidium and powdery mildew and resistant to grey rot. Tends to shed fruit. Cold hardiness down to -24 C. Used for fresh consumption, for processing into juices and jams, for preparation of dried products.
